Disposition:
- Shy/Unsociable: As the Moriarty group's spy, it is part of Fred's job description to go unnoticed most of the time. But even beyond the scope of his duties, Fred is a shy young man, preferring to stay to the back of the group and only speak up when he has a question or an important observation to voice. Even with his employers, he is nervous about speaking up and has to push himself to voice his doubts about the group's plans. He is able to put on a charming face when it comes to acting out a part (like he does at the Moriarty's tea party), but he tries to stick with topics he's well-versed in (like gardening) to help ease the burden of social interactions.
- Kind: Fred is the one Moran claims is the most like Liam, in that he wants to save everyone, even if it is counterintuitive to their plans. Fred insists on saving children captured and taken to the Baskerville hunting grounds, even though it won't further the master plan any further. He was willing to speak up and go against the Moriarty's plans twice in the series- in refusing to leave an injured child behind to get to the culprit faster and do a 'greater overall good', and during the Final Problem, when he betrayed William to ask Sherlock Holmes to rescue him. Fred is selfless, offering to accept any punishment for his disobedience. Twice in the series, Fred strips off pieces of his own outfit to bandage others' wounds, even though he seems to have very few worldly possessions of his own. During the Ripper Arc, he disguises himself as the Ripper once OG Jack gets too tired to keep running, putting himself in danger of being captured by a mob with the added handicap of not having anyone acting as his guide as he had been for Jack.
- Doubting: Fred is a part of the Moriarty group because he refuses to accept the world as it is, with all of its injustices and evils. In the same way, he doesn't blindly accept what the Moriarty brothers say, either. This is not to say that he is disloyal; he just isn't willing to accept collateral damage that he considers unnecessary. If Fred doesn't feel something is justified, or if it involves hurting someone he considers 'innocent', he will refuse to go through with it and act independently, even though it risks ostracizing himself from his criminal found family.
- Hardworking/Competent: Fred wears many hats in the Moriarty organization. He spies on targets and gathers information, serves as the information broker for the lower class to seek out Moriarty's consulting, dons disguises to trick targets, occasionally whips out his fighting and parkour skills, and also maintains a lovely greenhouse and garden at the Moriarty estate. Not sure when this boy sleeps, but he works hard, without complaint, and he does it well. Moriarty's plans often hinge on Fred being able to find a certain piece of information or convince someone he is someone else, and Fred delivers constantly.
Suitability: Fred is shy, but generally pretty unflappable. He accepts people as they are, as long as they aren't doing harm to innocents, so he would be able to move past monstrous appearances and bizarre aliens. In terms of synchrony, he'll have to push himself to gather manna outside of his friends from home, but that will be a reason for him to expand his network of acquaintances.
Also, given his love of gardening, he will welcome the nature magic aspect of his emerald gem bond.

Abilities:
-Disguises (& acting) - Fred is able to put on disguises and convince their targets he is someone else. While he isn't the actor of the same caliber as Irene Adler (his deceptions often rely partially on distance and expectations planted in the subject's mind to really sell it), he is able to pull it off and often goes undetected as an imposter.
-Combat (hand to hand & weapons)- His preferred weapon is a knife, but Fred can also fight hand to hand, and has been able to use guns at close range when he comes across them.
-Spying/Information Gathering - Fred has a few methods he employs for gathering intel for the Moriartys: tailing a mark and spying on them; infiltrating their ranks as a servant to get close to them; or straight up making himself available to people in the know as the Lord of Crime's information broker.
-Parkour- Both in the back alleys of London and out in the forest, Fred can move quickly, climb and jump around, and generally use his surroundings to cover great distances. He uses this to pursue targets and/or escape pursuit.
-Gardening- Fred acts as the gardener for the Moriarty Estate and genuinely seems to enjoy doing it. Even though he tries to avoid being in the spotlight, he is able to charm the ladies attending the tea party by talking at length about the various flowers he's cultivated there.
-Cryptanalysis/ciphers- Fred has a talent for ciphers and codes, and is able to send encoded messages when needed.
